Church Life

The purpose of the Church Life Commission at FMC is to give the congregation opportunities to care for and share with each other. This commission does this in a variety of ways, from organizing social events and small groups to overseeing the Congregational Care Team. The motto for the Church Life Commission is to “Love one another via our relationships within the Body of Christ”.

Congregant Care (Care Team) – each person/participant in the congregation is assigned to a care team member. The care team member checks in the congregants on a regular basis, and is also available for visitation if needed. The care team member can also reach out to the meal train coordinators, if that service is requested. They also keep the congregation informed of the needs of participants.

Fellowship – this includes potlucks and other food related activities, such as Second Sunday Treats, which happens the second Sunday of every month. They organize people to help prepare coffee for fellowship time between the Church service and Sunday School.

Small groups – the church life commission oversees the maintenance of existing small groups and formation of new groups.

Hospitality and follow-up with visitors are also part of the workings of this commission.
