Community Engagement

We grow together through connection. From book clubs to walking groups, these gatherings strengthen relationships and help us live out our faith in community. Let us know if you’d like to join a group or start one of your own!

Current Groups

The Mahjong group meets every Monday from 4-6 pm to play this classic tile-based strategy game. Anyone from first-time players to experts is welcome to join.

FMC Young Retirees group is for retired men ages 60-73 who get together on the 2nd Wednesday of every other month for lunch at the Illinois Street Food Emporium.

Fiber Friends is a community-based knit/crochet group that meets on the third Sunday of every month at First Mennonite Church from 2-4 pm. All are welcome.

Women’s Walking Group meets the third Saturday of each month. They walk for an hour together at various locations.

Women’s Book Club meets on the second Friday of every month (the group takes off the summer months. They meet in homes when possible and a Zoom link is provided for virtual participation.

Adult Bible Study meets each Wednesday evening. Study takes the form of three read-throughs with different responses: immediate reaction, questions, and take-aways. We hold space for each other’s interpretations.
