Our Grounds

Our building sits on ten acres of land close to the center of Indianapolis.

Learn how we are stewarding this valuable resource, working with the land and its creatures, and caring for creation.

  • A walking path circles the grounds, taking you past a wetland, native prairie, and forest.

  • The Garden of Remembrance is a sacred space to remember with gratitude the lives of our departed loved ones and the healing power of God’s love. It is to be a place of quiet space and beauty. A place where we come to remember. A place where God’s Spirit will comfort us and give us courage. A place of God’s peace.

  • Native prairie plantings and a small wetland area provide habitat for animals and plants, while also responsibly managing rainfall.

  • In 2022, First Mennonite Church had 100 solar panels installed, enough to provide all the electricity we use in a year!

  • Open to the neighborhood community!
