Fall Work Day

Please mark your calendar and let's do some sprucing up around the church. Outside we will mostly be doing bush trimming and brush removal, as well as power washing/cleaning our sign. Inside we need volunteers to wipe down and clean the toys in the nursery. Bring your rakes, gloves, and warm smiles and we will get it done. Tentative rain delay date is scheduled for November 8th, same time. Thank you!

Journeying to Jerusalem: Unpacking Our Perspectives

FMC is looking at our perspective during our journey to Jerusalem during Lent. Each Sunday focuses on a different perspective: bias, condemnation, priorities, selfishness, blinders, expectations. Sunday school for both children and adults takes a deeper dive into each of these priorities, asking us all to look within ourselves.

We are also experiencing Lent through the musical Godspell. Youth Sunday School classes have been looking at the teachings of Jesus through the lens of the music and scenes from the 1973 movie. Adult choir has been singing songs during the service that also reflect these priorities, and some of the songs from the musical as well. Each Sunday we experience God’s grace given to us through “sustenance”: Rugelach, peanut butter cups, mini ice cream sandwiches, and chai tea.

We have also had our children help “flower the cross.” Each Sunday, more flowers were added to the cross.

Heritage Potluck

The Church Life commission asked participants to think about foods they remember eating while growing up, or foods from their particular heritage. There was an AMAZING spread! Participants brought lots of food, everything from orange Jello with carrots and pineapple, to homemade tamales, curry and shoofly pie. People brought recipes that were passed down from grandparents and parents, or some that came from old cookbooks. Everyone had a great time trying old favorites and discovering new ones.

Junior Youth Participate in Escape Rooms

On Saturday, April 27, our junior youth went to PanIQ Rooms escape rooms. They divided into two groups to tackle two different rooms. One group “went into space” and had to bring everyone back safely to earth. The other group had to solve the perfect crime. Both groups had a great time and enjoyed some quality time together. Thank you to the sponsors/adults who went along with our wonderful youth.
